Our 2011 season is now finished andwhat a season it was! With the good fortune of having spent over 30 years on the Bonaventure river, both as a guide for many years and now as a camp owner, I must say that this past has been the best season yet. Camp Bonaventure guests hooked over a 1000 fish this season! we have come close a few times but never hit the 1000 mark before. The Bonaventure, Grand Cascapedia and Petite Cascapedia experienced a simply fantastic year. The weather man was predicting a warm dry summer, he couldn’t have been more off the mark. From opening day until this past week we saw more rain than I can ever remember. The river conditions were great throughout the entire summer except for a few times when we actually had too much water. Totally we only missed four days of fishing for the entire season.
After running a salmon camp for so many years, our clients have become friends. Every season is different but the great times, good laughs and wonderful memories that each and every season bring will last forever. Warm personal regards to each and every one of you that make Camp Bonaventure a yearly part of your lives. From all the guides, Lodge staff and myself, thank you for another GREAT! season, we all look forward to seeing you again, when our bright silver salmon return.
