Salmon Lodge

Overview

You will not find a better place to cast your cares away and immerse yourself in the timeless tradition of fly fishing than at Salmon Lodge.

Built on an 80-foot bluff, Salmon Lodge has been overlooking the majestic Grand Cascapedia River for over a century creating the perfect setting for your Atlantic Salmon Fishing Vacation. As an Orvis endorsed lodge, we provide comfort, service and a standard of sport that will exceed your expectations.

The Rivers

Salmon Lodge guests have the opportunity to fish on three of Gaspe’s most well-known and productive Atlantic salmon rivers. The Bonaventure River is legendary for its water clarity and offers its anglers a captivating sight-casting experience. The Petite Cascapedia provides an intimate fly-fishing adventure creating a tranquil haven for those seeking both the thrill of a catch and the solace of nature’s embrace. The world-famous Grand Cascapedia River, home of the Cascapedia Giants, will create memories to last a lifetime.

The Fishing

Salmon Lodge offers its guests a full-day fishing experience with a riverside lunch served by our guides. During the month of June, our anglers will fish a combination of casting from our traditional 26-foot river canoes and wading. July and August present anglers with the opportunity to wade fish during our action-packed dry fly season. September is an exciting month due to seasonal changes on the river so anglers can expect both wade and canoe fishing depending on water levels.

Accommodations

The Main Lodge

From the moment you arrive, you will feel that you have stepped back to a time on the river when anglers enjoyed a privileged fishing retreat, for Salmon Lodge has been welcoming guests to the Grand Cascapedia River for more than a century.

Hosting up to eight guests, Salmon Lodge will make you feel that you’ve come home. Our living and dining rooms both overlook the Grand Cascapedia River and still have their original century-old fireplaces creating a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Our main lodge has four large double bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. One of Salmon Lodge’s most enjoyed features is the wrap-around porch and cigar-friendly screened deck that offers you a spectacular view of the river, where countless fishing tales have been told.

The Beck’s Guest House

Just steps from our main lodge, you will find the Beck’s Guest House, which is a private mini version of Salmon Lodge. It offers our guests two single bedrooms, a private bathroom, a living room, and its own private porch overlooking the Grand Cascapedia River. This guest house is perfect for hosting a couple, two anglers requesting a private room or a small family.

The Heart of The Lodge

Your Salmon Lodge experience is perfectly complemented by the enjoyment of homestyle cuisine. Our Executive Chef, Diane, with a passion for both fishing and the culinary arts, has crafted a menu inspired by an assortment of seasonal favourites. A full breakfast is served every morning with daily specials, homemade wild berry jams and local maple syrup. Lunch is served by the river and includes hearty soups, fresh salads, savoury stews, delicious chilli, and a variety of sandwiches. Our shore lunch is not just a refuelling stop but an experience that fosters a sense of camaraderie amongst fellow anglers and guides.

Upon your return to camp, enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres with your favourite cocktail in the living room or watch the sunset on the veranda. In the dining room, our guests are served a delicious full-course supper with wine and irresistible homemade desserts. The Camp’s culinary offerings will become an integral part of your stay, and a testament to our commitment to provide you with a memorable fly-fishing experience.
