River Report

Fishing report August 8th to 14th

Fishing continues to be excellent, water conditions are perfect and our August run of fresh salmon is off to a fantastic start. Water levels and temperatures on all three of our rivers are just right and our fishing just keeps on being great. We are still using our canoes every day, looking at the river makes me think of mid June. There are salmon in literally every pool and most importantly they are taking fly’s.

Phillip Sawyer of San Francisco with a nice 25+ pound female. A happy fisherman to say the least.

With higher than normal water conditions we are fishing bigger fly’s than we normally use in August, number 4’s and 6’s are doing very well. The hot ones this week, well the Stone Ghost, if anyone had to guess, the Blue Charm, Black Bear, Picasse and the Green Highlander. Drys are also working very well, especially the green and dark brown ones. Henrik Mortensen caught a good number of nice fish using a variety of tube fly’s. Some of which he kept to himself, but I’ll find out and pass it along!
