Last week we were complaining about all the rain and high water conditions, well in retrospect the conditions were great compared to this past week. On Monday we were just getting back to reasonable fishing conditions, though high, the Bonaventure was starting to produce again. The beginning of the week was not great but we did manage to land a number of nice fish. On Monday and Tuesday the clouds opened up again and dumped 3 inch of rain in a short period of time. The Bonaventure which is normally running at 30 cubic meters per second this time of year jumped up over 480 per second! Needless to say but we couldn’t even get a boat out until Friday when the flow had fallen to around 200. On Friday we had two guests fish very close to the camp and much to everyone’s surprise, caught and landed a nice 15 pounder. Conditions should improve by Monday and we are looking forward to hopefully getting back to normal.
The few fish we did catch this week we on Sun Ray Shadows and number 2 stone ghosts.
The Bonaventure on Tuesday afternoon, defiantly not dry fly water!
