You have all heard of the expression “If God’s willing and the creek don’t rise” Well, I believe God was willing and the creek, well it rose! Happy to report however that we have gotten to normal and the creek as well. After three weeks of high water conditions this past week was great. Bright sunny days and dry conditions is just what we needed. We are still fishing our high water pools and fishing from our 26 foot canoes. Almost everyone landed fish and those who didn’t had a number on the line. The high water is great for our September run of fresh salmon and we are seeing good numbers of silver bright fish in our pools.
The hot fly’s this past week have been tube fly’s, Sun Ray Shadow’s, Collie Dogs, and the Red Francis. The guides have a few tubes patterns that they have been keeping secret, I did manage to take a peek, some interesting stuff!
