Every season begins long before the first cast.
Throughout the spring, our team has been preparing the lodges, readying the boats, organizing gear, welcoming familiar faces back to our staff, and bringing each of our camps back to life. There is always something special about watching another season unfold, and after months of anticipation, there is no better feeling than opening our doors and returning to the rivers we call home.

This year, like every other, Mother Nature chose her own schedule.
Spring arrived later than usual across the Gaspé Coast, bringing cool temperatures and plenty of rain. The first half of June continued much the same, cold, damp, and refreshing our rivers almost daily. While our Atlantic salmon were a little tardy to the party, with only a handful of early arrivals showing themselves, our guests embraced every moment exactly as seasoned anglers do: with optimism, laughter, and the understanding that fly fishing is about far more than the fish themselves.
Because the true magic of 3Camps has always been found in the experience.
It lives in the quiet mornings on the river, the stories shared from a canoe, the excitement of seeing the first salmon of the season, and the familiar smiles waiting back at the lodge. It is found around beautifully prepared meals, a well-earned drink after a day on the water, conversations that stretch late into the evening, and friendships that continue to grow with every visit.

The rivers themselves are in wonderful shape. Water levels remain a little higher than average for this time of year, providing healthy conditions throughout the watershed. The Bonaventure and Petite Cascapédia have yet to reveal the crystal-clear clarity they are so famously known for, while the Grande Cascapédia has carried a darker, cloudier hue than her classic tea-coloured waters. Even so, the rivers are healthy, vibrant, and full of promise as we move deeper into the season.

Above all, it has simply been wonderful to have life back in the lodges.
To welcome returning friends, meet new guests, hear the laughter echo through the camps. The opening weeks of every season remind us why we do what we do: creating meaningful experiences, lasting friendships, and memories that reach far beyond the riverbank.
The first half of June has given us every reason to be excited for what lies ahead. As water temperatures rise, more salmon continue to enter our rivers, and summer begins to settle over the Gaspé, we look forward to sharing many more unforgettable days on the water.
Here’s to health, happiness and tight lines.
