And just like that, we closed the book on August.
The final two weeks of the month gave us everything we love about late-summer fishing on the Gaspé Coast, clear water, dry flies, familiar faces, new friendships and plenty of stories to bring home. Across Camp Bonaventure and Salmon Lodge, August continued to remind us that sometimes the best days aren’t measured only by the fish we land, but by the people beside us when it all comes together.
At Camp Bonaventure, our adventures continued to make waves! Guests traded riverbanks for the salty waters of the Baie-des-Chaleurs, combining days of Atlantic salmon fishing with the excitement of chasing striped bass. Two species. Two completely different environments. One pretty incredible Gaspé fishing experience.
August brought some wonderful collaborations our way. We were thrilled to welcome both Kalamouche and the Orvis Tyson store to our corner of the Gaspé, sharing days on the rivers, adventures on the Baie-des-Chaleurs and, of course, a taste of our Gaspesian hospitality. We are truly grateful for their time with us and for the opportunity to share what 3Camps is all about: where the fishing brings you here, but the rivers, the people and the moments in between are what bring you back.
Salmon Lodge spent the final weeks of August doing what it does best: welcoming old friends home while making room around the table for a few new ones. There is something special about watching anglers return year after year to their favourite pools, guides and traditions, while first-time guests begin creating traditions of their own.
Sunny days call for small flies, long leaders, careful presentations and that unmistakable anticipation as a Bomber dances its way across a pool. In our gin-clear water, sometimes you get to watch the entire story unfold. A shadow moves. A salmon rises. Your heart rate climbs. The rest is yours to tell or to experience with us next season!
