Fishing continues to be productive, in fact we just had one of our best weeks of the season with over 80 salmon to the net and many lost or missed especially on dry fly’s. Despite the hot and humid weather it was a great week to be at camp. All of our guests caught fish, needless to say we had a happy crew. Temperatures have been in the high 80’s for most of the week, not the best for fishing, but the fish didn’t seem to mind. Next weeks forecast is calling for several days of rain and showers, we’re keeping our fingers crossed, we can use a few days of rain.
The Bonaventure is beginning to get a bit low, its flowing at 17 cubic meters per second. Despite the lower water conditions the temperature is still in the 55 degree range and fishing has been superb! Like the Bonaventure the Petite Cascapedia is also getting a bit low but remains cool and fishing very well. The Petite has been giving us some big salmon. The Grand Cascapedia has been producing some fine fish as well but like the Bony and Petite, its getting low and could really use some rain. Lets hope our weatherman get it right this time.
This weeks fly selection have been the Blue Charm, Stone Ghost and Green Highlander. Dry’s have continued to be the big winners especially Brown and Green bombers along with the Labatt Blue.
If you are interested in joining us next season, I still have a couple of prime dates available at both Camp Bonaventure and Salmon Lodge for the 2017 season.
Until next Week,
Tight Lines,
Glenn
