Camp Bonaventure Fishing Report July 1st to 8th, 2012

The great fishing continues! We experienced another superb week of fishing with all our anglers landing fish. The water conditions on the Bonaventure and Petite Cacapedia are just perfect. The rain last week brought them up to June levels, just right for good fishing and travelling by boat.  The Grand Cascapedia on the other hand is getting low again, it received less rain. Fishing on the Grand has remained good with fish being landed everyday, but we could use a bit of rain however.

Karl Konecny releases a fine Bonaventure salmon, way to go Karl.

With higher water levels we are still fishing bigger tha normal fly’s for this time of the season. The Nagli has been the hot fly this year followed by the Stone Ghost which held first place last season. Other that have been producing are the Silver rat, John Olin and Picasse. Drys are still responsible for about 25 percent of the salmon caught, Brown, Green and Blue bombers are the hot ones.
