As our season is slowly winding down but our rivers are continuing to produce reasonable well The weather man gave us the rain we so desperately needed and our rivers are bac to where they should be at this time of the season and temperatures are in the 50 degree range. The Bonaventure, Petite Cascapedia and Grand Cascapedia are all at normal levels at the moment, we could use a little rain to maintain them until the end of the seson.
The Bonaventure is flowing at 14 Cubic meter per second, the Petite Cascapedia at 13 and the Grand at 20.
The Grand has been fishing very well over the past week and we’ve been catching good numbers of fresh salmon everyday. We’re also seeing a good number of fresh salmon in the Bonaventure especially in our lower pools and catching has been good. The Petite is also seeing its fall run of fish and we’re doing well on most of the pools.
This weeks flys’ were a mixed bag of fall and summer patterns . The Red Francis, Purple Grape, and John Olin Spey produced the most along with the Blue Charm, Stone Ghost and Black Bear. Drys continue to do well, Green, Brown and of course Blue.
Until next week,
Tight Lines,
Glenn
