3Camps Fishing & River Report June 1st to June 8th, 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Atlantic salmon fishing season!

The river is calling, and we’re filled with gratitude to be reunited with our incredible team and all of you, our cherished guests.

There’s something truly special about the start of a new season: fresh mornings, tight lines, and the promise of unforgettable moments ahead. We cannot wait to see what this season has in store for us and to share every moment with you.

As our spring began to roll around this year our rivers were flooded with moderate amounts of rain on cloudy days and melting snow on the warmer sunny ones. Our spring was a healthy mixture of cool weather, very little sunshine and frequent reminders of winter’s crisp chilly nights. Much of May was rainy to say the least but we didn’t mind and as the weeks passed and our rivers began to take shape for the first week of June.

June started off very similar to May… cool and rainy but our season has arrived and we are thrilled to be back on the river!

Camp Bonaventure and Salmon Lodge had the pleasure of welcoming their first guests this week!

The Bonaventure river was clear-ish and ready for June 1st. With her levels starting the week at 62.88 cubic meters per second and finishing at 60.34 cubic meters per second, the Bonaventure river allowed for some wonderful fishing this week. The Grand Cascapedia was a little brown in colour the first few days of this week and ran at 160+ cubic meters per second. As the week progressed, the Grand cleared and began to show her beautiful tea colour. Her water levels finished off the week at a comfortable 60 cubic meters per second. The Petite Cascapedia only opens on June 15th but its water levels are average for this time of year ending the week in the 50 cubic meters per second range.

I would like to end our first report with a heartfelt thank you to our incredible 3Camps team. Your dedication, warmth, and passion for the sport of fly fishing are the heartbeat of everything we do. As for our guests, our family, we thank you for returning year after year and trusting us with your time and precious memories.

Wishing everyone a season filled with great fishing, delicious food, laughter around the table, and moments that stay with us long after the final cast.

Here’s to health, happiness and tight lines,

Julia
