The month of August always treats us with some heat, so why should this year be any different? The past week was a warm one with some very humid days. We were blessed with a bit of rain scattered throughout the week but unfortunately it didn’t help break the humidity and the amounts were not substantial enough to rise all three rivers.
The rain received at the beginning of the week was very refreshing for the Grand Cascapedia. The Grand began her week flowing at 15 cubic meters per second and rose approximately 10 cubic meters with the showers received. The Grand Cascapedia continues to perform well this season treating us with some beautiful experiences and great catches. She finished the week flowing at 14.14 cubic meters per second.
The Bonaventure and the Petite Cascapedia are flowing at their average rates for this time in August. The beautiful Bonaventure river began its week at a rate of 13 cubic meters per second and ended around the 10.9 mark. The Petite Cascapedia was flowing strong at 9 cubic meters per second on Monday and ended her week at 7.8.
Dry fly season is in full gear at the moment. The Salmon are very intrigued by the Aqua Blue and Lighter Brown Bombers. Throw in a couple small tube flies in the mix every now and then and you have yourself a successful day on the river.
Stay Safe & Tight Lines!
