This week at The Club we welcomed our Owners and their friends. It was a lovely week as the weather conditions were perfect. The Bonaventure river is shaping up nicely and the first fish of the season were landed and released.
The Bonaventure river remains higher than the norm for this time of year but the water conditions are great at 40 cubic meters per second. This allows for clear wading and easy access to many pools with our canoes.
The high tides brought in a nice run of fresh salmon this week. Guests are sighting and landing salmon in pools such as Luna, Portage and Cox. The guides’ fly of choice for the week or shall we say the salmons’ flies of choice have been the Stone Ghost, Silver Rat and John Olin in sizes 4 and 6.
We have a nice forecast announced for this upcoming week – a couple days of rain to keep the river levels in prime condition, warmer days to enjoy the Bonaventure river and then cooler nights to keep the water temperatures comfortable for the salmon.
Congrats to everyone on a successful week all round!
Tight Lines,
Julia
