River Report

The Club’s Fishing & River Report June 29th To July 5th, 2020

It’s hard to believe the month of June has already come and gone. Time sure does fly by when you’re having a good time! This first week of July was another great one for the books! We shared our week with wonderful returning friends as well as some new faces.

The Bonaventure River was good to Francine Bonneau during her stay at The Club! Always a pleasure to have you around Francine! Nicely done!

Mother nature brought back the weather we are a lot more accustomed to for the month of June this past week. Our days were comfortable in the 20+ degrees celsius range with very little humidity. We received the rain we all prayed for mid-week and again near the end.

Serge couldn’t let Francine have all the fun! Beautiful catch Serge! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

The Bonaventure River continues to supply our guests with some wonderful fishing! The Bonaventure river began and finished its week flowing around 15 cubic meters per second. It dropped to a minimum of 13 cubic meters per second throughout the week but the rain fell in all the right places and picked her back up.

We had the honour of hosting Scott Fraser as our guest again this year! Always a pleasure Scott! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

The salmon’s choice of flies this week have been a mixture of dry’s and small wets. Green, Brown and dark Blue Bombers were very productive this week. As for wet flies, the Stone Ghost, Green Butt and Green Machine in sizes 8’s and 10’s have caught the salmon’s eye.

First time guest Pete Holland came into camp looking the part and landed the salmon! Congrats Pete! It was so nice having you and your father as our guests!
