Two Species, One Camp! At Camp Bonaventure we offer fly-fishing for Atlantic Salmon and Striped Bass.
Atlantic Salmon
The Rivers
Camp Bonaventure offers its guests a full-day fishing experience with a riverside lunch served by our guides. During the month of June, our anglers will fish a combination of casting from our traditional 26-foot river canoes and wading. July and August present anglers with the opportunity to wade fish during our action-packed dry fly season. September is an exciting month due to seasonal changes on the river so anglers can expect both wade and canoe fishing depending on water levels.
The Fishing
Camp Bonaventure guests have the opportunity to fish on three of Gaspe’s most well-known and productive Atlantic salmon rivers. The Bonaventure River is legendary for its water clarity and offers its anglers a captivating sight-casting experience. The Petite Cascapedia provides an intimate fly-fishing adventure creating a tranquil haven for those seeking both the thrill of a catch and the solace of nature’s embrace. The world-famous Grand Cascapedia River, home of the Cascapedia Giants, will create memories to last a lifetime.
Striped Bass
La Baie-des-Chaleurs
Located along the picturesque Gaspé Coast, La Baie-des-Chaleurs offers one of Eastern Canada’s most exciting and accessible striped bass fisheries. Known for its warm waters, clear estuaries and breathtaking coastal scenery, this region provides an ideal setting for anglers of all experience levels. While tides move gently across vast feeding flats, schools of stripers hunt, offering our anglers an exceptional fishing experience.
The Fishing
Camp Bonaventure offers its guests a full-day fishing adventure with the option to enjoy lunch on the beach or back at camp. Experience the excitement of striped bass fishing aboard our bay boat or our skiffs. The bay boat offers a smooth, spacious platform ideal for exploring deeper waters, while the skiffs provide a close-to-the-water, technical approach perfect for sight-fishing and exploring shallow feeding flats and estuaries. Each outing allows you to take in stunning scenery and good company while pursuing hard-fighting stripers on the Gaspé Coast.

This camp accommodates up to eight guests in four inviting and comfortable double bedrooms each with a private bathroom. Evenings are enjoyed gathered around the crackling fire or on the outside veranda where many coffees, nightcaps and years of fishing adventures have been shared.
The Guest House
Just steps away from our main lodge, you will find the private guest house which is the ideal accommodation for a family of four, two couples or four fishing friends. It features a spacious living room with a river-stone fireplace, two comfortable double bedrooms with private baths, a screened-in porch off each bedroom and its own patio.
The Heart of The Camp
Your Camp Bonaventure experience is perfectly complemented by the enjoyment of homestyle cuisine. Our Executive Chef, Diane, with a passion for both fishing and the culinary arts, has crafted a menu inspired by an assortment of seasonal favourites. A full breakfast is served every morning with daily specials, homemade wild berry jams and local maple syrup. Lunch is served by the river and includes hearty soups, fresh salads, savoury stews, delicious chilli, and a variety of sandwiches. Our shore lunch is not just a refuelling stop but an experience that fosters a sense of camaraderie amongst fellow anglers and guides.
Upon your return to camp, enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres with your favourite cocktail in the living room or watch the sunset on the veranda. In the dining room, our guests are served a delicious full-course supper with wine and irresistible homemade desserts. The Camp’s culinary offerings will become an integral part of your stay, and a testament to our commitment to provide you with a memorable fly-fishing experience.
